Nature & cultural insight
In many cultures, flowers are used to bring communities together during celebrations and festivals. From flower markets to spring
festivals, shared displays of blooms symbolize renewal, beauty, and the joy of gathering. In parts of Europe, towns hold flower festivals
where streets and public squares are decorated with thousands of blossoms. In Japan, the tradition of viewing cherry blossoms each
spring invites people to gather beneath flowering trees to share food, conversation, and appreciation for the beauty of the moment.
A garden created together often becomes more meaningful than one created alone.
Facilitator tips
Arrange materials in small bowls. Place the finished wall in a common area for all to enjoy.
Dementia Adaptation
Provide pre-cut flowers. The act of adding a flower to the display is a meaningful participation.
